What do we all need right now? The project RE-COVER will be investigating this question in a special setting because the audience will be comfortably sitting around the stage as this durational performance is taking place. In this very unique and exclusive performance situation, the dancers will give insights into their inner world and share them with the audience. The performance is about encounters, and taking the time to experience them. RE-COVER offers a retreat from the outside world, a place to experience, observe and reflect.

During the performance, the audience can sit or even lay down, move about the room, choose to listen to their own soundtrack or just take a break for some fresh air. Food and beverages will also be available. As the dramatic composition is constantly recreated from the changing constellations of participants, this project also explores the relationship between the audience and the performer – as both are bearers and witnesses of stories. How can we adjust our relationships so that narratives can unfold and be thought about in new ways?

This performance follows the Theaterfestival Schwindelfrei 2020 residency project (P)RE-COVER. During their three-week 2020 residency, the artists researched their ideas together with experts from the fields of dance therapy and therapeutical sciences.

“RE-COVER” is the second part of the trilogy “MOLECULAR SCARS.” Over the past three years, INTER-ACTIONS have been engaged with the field of traumatic experiences. In the course of addressing the personal, societal and intergenerational dimensions of trauma, three very different works have emerged, namely “IMPACT,” “RE-COVER” and “MOLECULAR SCARS.”

Please bring your smart phone and headphones.

About the artists

INTER-ACTIONS is a dance company based in Heidelberg. Under the direction of choreographer Edan Gorlicki, their work focusses on producing innovative dance performances while also engaging in the community outreach program BUILDING-ACTIONS which strives to build a bridge between the art of dance and the dance public. Moreover, the group operates a studio that is open to dance professionals from the local and regional scene as a platform and co-working space. When working with their diverse partner organisations, INTER-ACTIONS is committed to an open, dialogue-based working method so as to remain relevant and react to issues facing us today concerning artistic discourse by always keeping the needs of the public and the dance community in mind.
